The European Union is giving Kenya KSh 20.8 billion to boost the digital economy.
The funding includes:
- KSh 15.3 billion (€102 million) for the EU-Kenya Digital Partnership
- KSh 5.5 billion (€37 million) for the Blue Raman submarine cable project
This money will help bring faster and cheaper internet to more parts of Kenya, improve digital infrastructure, create new jobs, and support tech startups and young entrepreneurs.
The timing is perfect. In 2025, Kenyan startups raised nearly $984 million, making Kenya Africa’s top destination for tech investment.
This could mean more jobs in tech, better education through digital learning, and stronger businesses for small traders.
