How we handle and report errors
Accuracy is the foundation of trust in journalism. When Easy Access News makes a mistake, we correct it promptly, transparently, and with appropriate prominence.
Our Corrections Policy
- Prompt correction. Errors are corrected as soon as they are identified.
- Transparency. A correction note is appended to the article explaining what was wrong, what has been changed, and when.
- Prominence. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article. Minor corrections (e.g., spelling, formatting) are made without a separate notice.
- Retractions. If an article is found to be fundamentally inaccurate, it may be retracted with a full explanation.
How to Report an Error
If you spot an error in our reporting, please let us know:
- Email: corrections@easyaccess.co.ke
- Include the article URL, a description of the error, and your source for the correction
Types of Corrections
- Correction: A factual error has been fixed. The correction note states what was incorrect and what the correct information is.
- Clarification: The language was ambiguous or lacked sufficient context. A clarification adds context without correcting a factual error.
- Retraction: The article is fundamentally unreliable and has been removed or replaced with an explanation.
Our readers are essential partners in maintaining accuracy. We thank everyone who takes the time to alert us to potential errors.
