Harambee Starlets ended their Four Nations Tournament in Zambia with a strong 6-0 win over Lesotho in the third-place playoff.
The result gave Kenya a bronze finish and provided a timely lift for the squad after losing their opening match to hosts Zambia on penalties.
Kenya took control early and never looked back. The team built a 4-0 lead by halftime before adding two more goals in the second half. The big margin showed clear improvement in attack and gave the technical bench a positive sign as the side continues to prepare for bigger assignments.
Coach Beldine Odemba said the result was important because the team had worked on finishing in training. She also suggested there could still be a few changes in the squad as Kenya sharpens its plans for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations later this year.
The win will be seen as a confidence boost for the national women’s team. It also gave several players a chance to show their quality in a competitive setting, with Kenya now hoping to carry that momentum into the next stage of preparation.
